Today's Mission: A Haircut

Gavin needed a haircut badly.  In fact, he always seems in need of one.  I didn't feel like driving to the kid's salon place in Franklin and paying $17 again, so this time we went to the neighborhood barber shop.  They did a great job, and now Gavin knows all about lolli-pops.  The unwrapped lolli-pop was in his chubby little hand before I could object.  By the end of the haircut, Gavin was a sticky and hairy mess, but he was happy.  He screamed during his last haircut, so we may try this lolli-pop trick again.

Cancun - Part 1

Here's some pics of our trip to Cancun back in November. Aaron and I enjoyed some "us" time while Gavin stayed with the grandparents.

We have another trip to Cancun planned for March, but this time with Gavin and Aaron's family. The thought of taking Gavin on a week-long trip to another country is overwhelming. Things already on the list to take: carseat, stroller, a week of diapers, and enough toys to keep him entertained. Other things to consider: does his summer clothes still fit? and where can I get swim diapers in February?

My Little Helper

Ever since Gavin started walking well enough, he's been "helping" me get Macy in her cage when we leave the house.  I get the treat out, hand it to Gavin and he gives it to Macy.  At first Macy would almost have to take it from him, but now he readily gives her the treats.  A couple of weeks go by and Gavin has learned how to pull open the drawer under the dryer (where the treats are kept).  In another week or two, Gavin can get the lid off the canister of treats.  He always wants to give Macy her treats!

Last week we were trying to get out of the house and everyone followed me to the laundry room (Gavin and Macy follow me a lot).  I was trying to do something, maybe throw away trash, before putting Macy up, and before I finished whatever I was doing, Gavin did the whole routine!  All I had to do was latch the cage door and put the lid back on the canister.  He's getting so big!!

 I bet you find yourself coming back to this site often to see if we have posted anything new.  You can subscribe to our blog and read it through RSS reader software.  I found an article describing the Top 10 Free Readers/Aggregators for Windows, but I'll let Aaron guide you thru setting up and subscribing to our feed.  I'm a little fuzzy on how all that works and my setup is for the Mac.

Gavin's Giggle

Gavin babbles a lot, especially when he's playing.  Here's his newest babbling which sounds like he is saying "giggle, giggle, giggle."  It's too funny!  If this video doesn't leave you smiling, nothing will.
